A NEW NICKEL COORDINATION POLYMER CONSTRUCTED FROM 4-[(8-HYDROXY 5-QUINOLINYL) AZO]-BENZENESULFONIC ACID: SYNTHESIS, STRUCTURE AND PROPERTY

ABSTRACT:One new supramolecular compound based on H2L (H2L = 4-[(8-hydroxy-5-quinolinyl) azo]-benzenesulfonic acid), {[NiL(en)]• DMF}n (1) (en = ethylenediamine, DMF = N,N-dimethylformamide), has been synthesized by solvothermal technique. Compound 1 exhibits a one-dimensional (1-D) zig-zag chain structure. In addition, it exhibits blue fluorescence at room temperature in the solid state.
